Please enhance the feature of Community Invite which was introduced in V6.5:
allow the process to start also from a community - perhaps from the community actions menu or by a button on community members page "invite new external user into this community"
once the external user finishes his self-enrollment and his account is created, the system should automatically and immediately put him into that community where the process had originated. Also the inviting internal user is notified
Justification:
In real world scenarios, external users collaborate with internal users in communities rather than on individual files. In the current implementation (V6.5) there is a unwanted gap between the external user account is created and until the inviting user puts the new user into a community. From the external user's POV the system looks weird as he logs in for the first time and he can see nothing in Connections . This fact often requires additional communication to explain the confusion and extra training of users. This is a serious UX fault - please make Connections intuitive for new external users!
This is a major frustration for our firm. There are too many steps involved to get an external guest using a community. It is confusing both for the internal and external people. We have to send out a user guide to externals explaining the steps that will be involved before we have even sent them the initial invite.
Absolutely agree with that. Self enrollment is a great feature, but it needs to be developed further.
